Our Story: The Genesis

Spring Church launched in November of 2019 with less than 10 partners utilizing space in the Claymont Community Center. 90 days post Spring’s launch, just as we were gaining momentum and traction in the city of Claymont, Covid -19 forced us to cancel in-person service. This forced us to pivot on how to foster community with our partners and serve the city of Claymont in a pandemic. We quickly sprung into action hosting drive-thru prayers and communion masked and implementing safety precautions. Our team began to seek the Lord on how we could be more impactful to our community and ultimately be the hands and feet of Jesus in the city. This prayer from our team allowed 7 boxes of food to turn into 1.2 million pounds of food delivered to the city of Claymont.

(The video shows the beginning of our food drive in 2020. In just two years, we served a total of 1.2 Million lbs of food and fed over 30,000 families! )

The Shift

In April of 2023, SPRING acquired a new building. This enabled us to expand our teams while empowering us to make a greater community impact. This first location positioned perfectly to do more community outreach in the city Wilmington, DE.

The Growth

One month in our new location Spring doubled in size!

With new found partners to help push Spring’s vision, Spring was able to formulate our E-Team that consisted five Elders. We also completed, S.A.L.T. (Spring Appointed Leadership Training.), our first training to equip & prepare our leaders for ministry. In addition Spring licensed multiple ministers and appointed a few ministry department heads. This team was now equipped with the tools and vision to be able to launch the work of Spring in a greater measure.

Love and unity is the culture of Spring. Our leaders and partners come together every Sunday and Thursday cementing our family atmosphere of community. We all grow together, and collectively learn to weather the ebbs and flow of ministry challenges. As our culture continues to evolve, Spring church is growing again. We are uniquely positioned to make a greater impact and excitedly preparing to move to a new location in the heart of the city of Wilmington, Delaware!

Spring is entering an exciting new chapter as we move into a spacious 5,000 sq ft facility on Wilmington’s East Side. This expanded location will enable us to broaden our outreach efforts, which are at the heart of our ministry.
